Why do we need the TRUTH?
I can hear Tom Cruise right now; “You can’t handle the truth!” Heres the thing about the truth. Its not neccesarily the truth that will set you free? It is the truth you know. John 8:32″ You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free! The Emancipation Proclomation abolishing Slavery was signed in America in Jan 1863, however the slaves in the south didn’t get this new until July 1863. That means that for 6 months the slaves lived in bondage even though they were free. I wonder how many of us, are also living in spiritual, physical and emotional slavery due to a lack of knowledge that It is for freedom that CHrist has set us free. There is therefore no condemnation for those that are in Christ.
I wonder how differently you would live, If you really thought you were free? Free to dream big ideas? free to dream ways to love again, free to enjoy life and not just endure life. Well guess what – you are free – so live that way today.
Pray: Father I come to you today in the name of Jesus thanking you for the freedom i have of having every sin forgiven and forgetten. I receive the truth today that my sins are as far as the australia is from america (and if you have even taken that trip in economy stuck in the middle seat – you understand what I am praying). That that there is no condemnation for me because I am in Jesus! I receive all the benefits of that freedom NOW.
